Reduce the size of SD and HD recordings

HDTV recordings may contain unneeded data. The optimization process of DVR-Compress allows you to reduce the file data volume without any loss of quality.

Due to the fixed bandwidth which is purchased for transmission of HDTV broadcasts, some channels use easy stream structures for processing which means that all packets have the same size, whether this is needed or not. DVR-Compress filters and removes unneeded information. As result, the recording can be optimized by up to 50% of the file volume without any loss of quality.

SD Recordings (titlesets) exceeding 4.7 GB will be shrunk automatically to the size of the empty DVD which is inserted.

The broadcasting stations' high transmission rates often result in recordings larger than 4.7 GB, or projects consisting of more than one recording barely exceeding the capacity of an empty DVD.
